Basu was a well-known artist in Calcutta during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The mischievous and powerful baby Krishna, the eighth incarnation of Vishnu, is one of the most popular Hindu deities. The elephant-headed Ganesha, god of wisdom, provides good fortune.
