In 2006 the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Library's Hawaiian Collection received the private research index created by the late Bob Krauss, longtime columnist for the Honolulu Advertiser and commentator on cultural, social, historical, and political developments in Hawaii. His wide-ranging knowledge of Hawaiʻi was phenomenal, and his research resulted in hundreds of columns and numerous books of history, biography, travel and social commentary.

With the kind permission of the Krauss family, and financial support from the University of Hawaiʻi's University Research Council, John and Barbara Stephan, and the Ifuku Family Foundation, this index is now available for public use.
