Says he is one of those who walks, can't afford a fancy carriage. Such people should be allowed to get together now and then if they behave decent. Says he thought Marshal Parke was against him but soon saw that Parke was merely arresting prostitutes in the area. That's okay with him because he has a wife and duaghters. Very rare expression from a working man in Honolulu.
