In an editorial refuting claim that PCA is the government journal, the editorial says,"It is true that one of the Ministers is largely interested in the Advertiser newspaper and steam printing establishment, but he it not the editor of this journal and we beg to say that, although its aim is to be in harmony with his views- he being a proprietor- yet editorials, reports and other publication of the paper are not made up or supervised by any member of the Government, and must not be regarded as in any way official."
