Letter writer says the big enemy of small farmers in Hawaii is not inability to get land, nor even the frequent summer droughts, but the scourge of grubs and caterpillars which devour a field of turnips in a week. He says pasture lands are alive with these creatures and they lay in masses in cultivated ground. He urges the importation of robins and sparrows to save the small farmer from ruin.
